The International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (IMAC), under the Ministry of Law and Justice, in collaboration with the OIC Arbitration Centre (OIC-AC) Türkiye, organized a landmark international conference on "Strengthening Investor Confidence through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)" at the COMSTECH Secretariat, Islamabad.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shahid Waheed, Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and announced the establishment of a dedicated Mediation Centre at the Supreme Court, alongside fast-tracking mechanisms for high-impact commercial cases. Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, Minister of State for Finance and Railways, attended as Guest of Honor, highlighting the critical role of ADR in fiscal reforms and revenue matters.

This significant gathering was made possible through the personal vision and hands-on guidance of Raja Naeem Akbar (HI), Federal Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, whose commitment to fostering an ADR culture has been the driving force behind IMAC’s establishment. We also extend profound gratitude to H.E. Dr. Umar A. Oseni, Secretary General of OIC-AC, for his invaluable collaboration in aligning Pakistan’s ADR ecosystem with international standards.

The conference featured two high-level sessions. Session 1, moderated by Mr. Ehsan Ullah Khan (Registrar, IMAC), focused on predictability and transparency with panelists including Mr. Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan (SIFC), Mr. Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Mr. Feisal Hussain Naqvi, and Mian Sheraz Javaid.

Session 2, moderated by Ms. Aisha Rasool (Project Director, IMAC), discussed investment stability and dispute prevention with contributions from Raja Naeem Akbar (HI), Mr. Adil Aziz Qazi, Ms. Sarah Tarar, Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha, and Mr. Shahzar Ilahi. The event concluded with a shared commitment to positioning ADR as a strategic economic asset for sustainable growth in Pakistan.
