Peshawar, June 16, 2026 — The International Mediation and Arbitration Center (IMAC), Ministry of Law and Justice, successfully concluded the Two-Day Foundation Training on Mediation at the National Institute of Public Administration NIPA (NIPA), Peshawar.

Addressing the participants, Hon’ble Ms. Justice Farah Jamshed, Peshawar High Court, emphasized that mediation and courts are complementary mechanisms working towards fair, timely, and accessible justice. Her Ladyship also shared her experience of recently completing International Mediation and Arbitration Center (IMAC)’s Accredited Mediation Training and encouraged participants to serve as ambassadors of dialogue and peaceful dispute resolution within their institutions and communities.

In her remarks, Ms. Aisha Rasool highlighted that the training forms part of IMAC’s broader national efforts to strengthen access to justice, institutional capacity, and public awareness regarding mediation and ADR. She also acknowledged the continued support and encouragement of the Hon’ble Federal Minister for Law and Justice and the Ministry of Law and Justice in promoting ADR and strengthening mediation initiatives across Pakistan.

During the programme, participants were introduced to the broader ADR framework in Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mediation theory and practice, negotiation strategies, communication skills for mediators, conflict dynamics, and practical dispute resolution techniques. Through interactive lectures, simulations, role-plays, and structured debriefs, participants explored how dialogue-based mechanisms can help resolve disputes in a more efficient, peaceful, and constructive manner.

The sessions were conducted by Dr Ata ur Rehman, former Federal Secretary and Accredited Mediator; Ms. Aisha Rasool, Senior Consultant, Ministry of Law and Justice and Project Director IMAC; and Ehsan Mahsud, Registrar IMAC.

Participants appreciated the quality of the training, practical simulations, course content, and the excellent arrangements made by NIPA and IMAC for the successful conduct of the programme.

The initiative reflects IMAC’s continued commitment to promoting mediation, dialogue, and peaceful dispute resolution as important tools for strengthening justice and social harmony in Pakistan.
