Islamabad, June 19, 2026 — The International Mediation and Arbitration Center (IMAC), Ministry of Law and Justice, successfully concluded the Two-Day Foundation Training on Mediation at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), and the Pakistan Academy for Rural Development Peshawar.

Addressing the closing ceremony as Chief Guest, H.E. Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasized the transformative role of mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in strengthening access to justice, reducing conflict, and promoting social harmony. He stressed that dialogue should become the first response to disputes and highlighted the importance of mediation not only in courts and communities but also as a powerful instrument of diplomacy, peacebuilding, and statecraft.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Law and Justice and IMAC in bringing mediation training to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and acknowledged the support of Hon’ble Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Law and Justice, in facilitating the initiative.

A significant milestone of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IMAC and NIPA/PARD/PPSA, formalizing long-term collaboration in mediation, ADR, professional training, research, and capacity building. The MoU was signed by Ms. Aisha Rasool, Senior Consultant, Ministry of Law and Justice and Project Director IMAC, and Capt. (Retd.) Usman Gul, Director General, NIPA, PARD and PPSA, in the presence of the Governor and distinguished guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Aisha Rasool highlighted IMAC's remarkable progress over the past year, including training more than 1,400 judges, lawyers, civil servants, academics, and business professionals, facilitating the accreditation and notification of 247 mediators and mediation centres, and expanding its international footprint through programmes involving participants from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Türkiye, and Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among participants, who appreciated the programme as highly practical, enriching, and beneficial for promoting mediation and peaceful dispute resolution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
