Karachi, January 15, 2025 – On the special directions of the Prime Minister, a three-day training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of Customs prosecutors, conducted by the Ministry of Law and Justice in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue, concluded here in Karachi. The first two training sessions under the program were held in Islamabad and Lahore, and this event marks the final training of the series.

The training sessions covered various critical topics, providing participants with invaluable knowledge and skills. The program included sessions on trade-based money laundering, offering insights into the intersection of financial crimes and customs activities. An in-depth overview of customs laws in Pakistan and key concepts was provided, ensuring a solid foundation for legal practitioners.

Participants also delved into the identification and prosecution of customs offenses, while sessions on prosecutorial skills focused on case preparation, drafting, and presentation.

The Additional Attorney General, Mr. Zia ul Haq, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He commended the participants for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the training. Ms. Aisha Rasool, Senior Consultant at the Ministry of Law & Justice, highlighted the critical role of prosecutors and investigators in ensuring justice in customs-related cases.
