The International Mediation & Arbitration Centre (IMAC), under the auspices of the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Madina Foundation, successfully concluded a Two-Day Introductory Training on Mediation at The University of Faisalabad (Amin Campus).
The program brought together participants from diverse backgrounds including lawyers, government officials, academics, nominees from the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and members of civil society. Over two days, sessions led by Madam Sarah Tarar, Lead Trainer, and other trainers, covered the fundamentals of mediation, stages of the process, negotiation techniques, conflict analysis, and practical role-playing exercises. Participants remained actively engaged throughout and gave highly positive feedback, acknowledging mediation as a timely and essential mechanism for dispute resolution in Pakistan.
The Closing Ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. Amanullah Malik, Rector, The University of Faisalabad, as Chief Guest. In his address, Prof. Malik appreciated the initiative of IMAC and Madina Foundation, terming it a significant step towards promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Pakistan. He assured the University’s continued support for such professional collaborations in the future.
Participants, including Mr. Arshad, Former Vice President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Ms. Moneeba Kanwal, Advocate High Court, also shared their reflections, praising the training for broadening their professional understanding of mediation and its role in society. Madam Sarah Tarar, in her concluding remarks, emphasized the importance of ADR as a modern and professional approach to conflict resolution.
As a gesture of appreciation, souvenirs, picture frames, and shields were presented to the Chief Guest, trainers, and supporting members. Certificates of participation were distributed among the trainees.
Delivering the Vote of Thanks, Mr. Gulfam Hameed, Additional Director, Ministry of Law & Justice, acknowledged the dedication of IMAC officials, trainers, and the staff of Madina Foundation and TUF. He extended gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement, which contributed to the success of the training.
The program was widely regarded as a resounding success, fostering awareness of mediation as an effective tool for conflict resolution and marking another milestone in IMAC’s mission to strengthen ADR practices across Pakistan.
