A three-day capacity building programme strengthening the skills of Customs prosecutors and investigators in Lahore.
On the special directions of the Prime Minister, a three-day capacity building training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of Customs prosecutors and investigators was conducted by the Ministry of Law and Justice in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue. The training program was the second in a series of workshops held across Pakistan. Sessions covered trade-based money laundering, customs laws in Pakistan, the identification and prosecution of customs offenses, prosecutorial skills focused on case preparation, drafting and presentation, international dimensions of customs operations, tariff structures, customs valuation, and civil proceedings against goods. Ms. Aisha Rasool, Senior Consultant at the Ministry of Law & Justice and Project Director (IMAC), underscored prosecutors' and investigators' vital role in ensuring justice in custom cases. She reaffirmed the Ministry's commitment to excellence in legal practice and expressed enthusiasm for organizing similar training programs to further develop legal professionals' skills.
