A focused one-day arbitration programme designed to provide lawyers with advocacy techniques and arbitration fundamentals.
The International Mediation & Arbitration Centre (IMAC), under the Ministry of Law and Justice, successfully concluded a One-Day Training on Arbitration at University Law College, Quetta. The program was held in collaboration with the High Court of Balochistan, Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Balochistan Bar Council, University Law College, and CIArb Pakistan Branch. Hon'ble Justice Iqbal Ahmed Kasi of the High Court of Balochistan graced the concluding ceremony as Chief Guest. In his address, Justice Kasi emphasized that mediation and arbitration are not foreign imports but are deeply rooted in Pakistan's traditions. He highlighted that ADR offers a credible, cost-effective, and expeditious pathway to reduce the backlog of cases. He further encouraged young lawyers to guide their clients towards ADR, stressing its promising future in Pakistan's legal system. Other distinguished speakers, including Meer Atta Ullah Langove (President, BHCBA), Rehmat Ullah Barech (Vice Chairman, Balochistan Bar Council), and Prof. Asmatullah Kakar, underscored the importance of ADR training for both lawyers and students. The technical sessions were conducted by internationally recognized arbitrators Mian Sheraz Javaid (MSJ) FCIArb and Syed Hammad Yousaf Gillani. They shared global best practices and practical insights into arbitration.
