Introductory Arbitration Training in Faisalabad

A professional two-day training program designed to introduce participants to the principles, procedures, and practical applications of arbitration as an effective dispute resolution mechanism.

About this Training

This training was organized in Faisalabad under the auspices of the International Mediation & Arbitration Centre (IMAC), Ministry of Law & Justice. It was developed as part of IMAC’s initiative to strengthen Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) practices across Pakistan, with specific emphasis on arbitration as a structured process for resolving disputes outside conventional courts.

The program was tailored to legal professionals, academicians, government officials, and members of civil society interested in arbitration. Its objective was to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively participate in and administer arbitration proceedings.

Day 1 of the training provided a foundational overview of arbitration, its historical development, and its recognition within national and international legal frameworks. Sessions also covered arbitration agreements, applicable laws, and procedural stages of an arbitral process.

Day 2 focused on practical aspects, including drafting arbitration clauses, managing hearings, handling evidence, and writing arbitral awards. Case studies and simulation exercises were integrated to ensure participants developed confidence in applying arbitration procedures to real-life disputes.

The training methodology combined expert lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on exercises. Participants were encouraged to critically engage with arbitration concepts and to practice skills that will enhance their professional capabilities in resolving commercial and civil disputes efficiently.
